Hi there! For the letter “R”, I chose to do a collection of my favorite books about Rockets! As a mom of a 6 year old boy, we are always reading books about space, astronauts, rocket ships, and planets! I hope this collection is out of this world!
1. Mad About Rockets, Stars, and Outer Space! – This book is packed with fun facts sure to please any young astronomer! My favorite part of this book is the amazing, beautiful illustrations! It’s sure to fascinate your young reader!
2. Space Boy by Leo Landry – When the world becomes to noisy for young Nicholas, he decides to pack up and take a trip. In order to get some peace and quiet, Nicholas rockets off to the moon for a picnic. Will he enjoy his quiet time?
3. Rocket Town by Bob Logan – This is such a fun story that follows an astronaut in his pickup truck with his companion, his dog. Each page has a very colorful illustration of each rocket ship they travel in-a school bus rocket, a shark rocket, and more!
4. On the Launch Pad: A Counting Book About Rockets by Michael Dahl – This is a counting book that helps readers count down from twelve to one in anticipation of the rocket taking off. There are also hidden numbers on every page that the readers can search for!
5. The Flying Machine Book by Bobby Merger – This book is great for hands-on learners! It gives instructions for building 35 fun, flying contraptions! Includes rockets, gliders, helicopters and more! Not to worry about buying all the materials either: Most of them just call for recycled materials!
6. Rockets and Spaceships by Karen Wallace – This easy-to-read book will take your reader for a ride on a rocket ship! DK books have great illustrations and awesome vocabulary words for your child to learn!
7. Zoom, Rocket, Zoom by Margaret Mayo – This book is so much fun! Your reader will ride on a rocket ship, past stars, through outer space, and land on the moon! With rhyming text and bright, colorful illustrations, this book is sure to please your reader!
8. Roaring Rockets by Tony Mitton & Ant Parker – This book teaches your reader all about rockets. They zoom and they soar. The fun part about this book is that the crew are all animals! Your child will enjoy the fun text and bold illustrations in this book!
