What makes The Cat in the Hat’s Great Big Flap Book perfect for the Littles (age 0-4) in the family? It is packed with over 70 seek-and-find flaps that help teach basic concepts such as colors, numbers, letters, shapes, and opposites!
We are HUGE Dr. Seuss fans in our family. Those are the books of choice when daddy is doing bedtime reading. We’ve read almost (but not quite) every one more than once and own several of them.
My seven year old is now able to read several of them on his own…and for awhile, my three year old had to just be content with looking over his shoulder or flipping through the pages and just looking.
That all changed when he received this new Dr. Seuss book that was geared to little book lovers like HIM! He is a HUGE flap book fan and always has been. This book has over 70 flaps to his little fingers delight! By combining several of the best selling Dr. Seuss books into this one book, he can enjoy the best of the other books. He LOVES looking under all the flaps and examining the pages with glee.
He even can usually con his brother to go through it with him and read the words that go with it. When I read it with him, I ask him questions in reference to the animal sounds pages (from Mr. Brown Can Moo) to the Colors pages (from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish) to the ABC flaps (from The ABC book)! This book is GREAT for interaction and learning as so many of the Dr. Seuss books are!
Here is a short video I took when he was “reading” his book this week:
If you are looking for something that takes the best of the most beloved Dr. Seuss’ books and combines it into a book perfect for your own littles, then you need to find this one!
